You're not looking for another fitness class. You're looking for a practice that actually helps your body unwind, your breath settle, and your nervous system regulate.
You want yoga practice that honours your entire self. No performance or pressure to advance.
Whether you join a public class or work with me privately, you'll practice in a way that meets your actual capacity—physically, mentally, and energetically.
This isn't yoga that asks you to override your body's signals.
It's yoga that teaches you to listen to them.
And maybe you've left feeling wound up instead of calm.
Move without feeling inflexible or like you need to perform to belong.
Help your body release tension through breath-led pacing.
Nervous system-aware sequencing to help you leave feeling more at ease.
Learn to trust your body through somatic and inner awareness cues.
Safely unwind and be yourself in a supportive, inclusive space.
Yoga has been the center of my professional life for more than a decade. Since 2012, I’ve taught thousands of classes, workshops, and trainings, and have had the opportunity to mentor and train more than 200 yoga teachers internationally.
My background includes training and certification as a Certified Yoga Therapist, E-RYT 500, Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT), and YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider). and I have my own registered yoga school, Vidya Yoga Academy, through Yoga Alliance. Over the years, I’ve accumulated more than 7,000 hours of teaching experience, working with a wide range of students—from beginners to teachers deepening their practice.
In addition to my work in teacher education, I’m also a lululemon Ambassador, collaborating with the brand to support community-based yoga education and wellness initiatives.
My approach to teaching blends traditional yoga practices with therapeutic and somatic perspectives. The intention is to help students and teachers develop practices that are thoughtful, sustainable, and grounded in real-world experience—both on and off the mat.
Before Alison, I was all about “push, push, push”, she taught me instead to “explore my edge” & really feel the benefits of slowing down which brought a totally new dimension to my practice. To “take what works & leave what doesn’t” is something that guides me everyday & every practice
—REBECCA
Alison taught me to see the beauty in the stillness & quiet moments. It may sound simple but it’s something I still work on daily to remember to embrace the stillness instead of always needing a dynamic & intense practice to feel satisfied.
—KRIS
Alison is knowledgeable about the whole practice of yoga. Not just the asanas & teaching a class, but in yoga philosophy & how to share that knowledge with her students either in a YTT or a class.
—JULIE
Very grateful for sharing your passion and your practice with us. It was an experience of a lifetime.

If you're ready to experience yoga that meets you where you are—that helps your body soften, your breath deepen, and your nervous system settle—this practice is for you.
Somatic yoga classes available in Maple Ridge, Abbotsford, Fraser Valley, and Greater Vancouver.
From the outside, Somatic yoga doesn’t look any different than many traditional offerings, we move with attention to breath, alignment, and mindful sequencing.
Where my classes may feel a bit different is in how the practice is experienced: rather than cueing people toward “perfect” shapes or pushing into deeper ranges, I emphasize internal awareness, nervous-system responsiveness, and choice — encouraging students to tune into what feels right in their own body in the moment. This means the postures are the same, but the way we approach them supports long-term safety, embodiment, and sustainable progress.
It’s yoga you’ll recognize but taught in a way that invites deeper somatic listening rather than forcing shapes or effort.
I don't teach performative yoga. I teach a nervous-system-aware, inclusive practice that meets your body, not an idealized version of one. My background in somatics, yoga therapy-informed approaches, and 17+ years of teaching help you feel supported, not stressed.
Absolutely. I specialize in working with people who want yoga to feel doable for them. You'll receive thoughtful options, slower pacing, and permission to move (or not move) in ways that honour your body.
That's the intention. My yoga classes and sessions are designed to downshift the nervous system and reconnect you to your body in a way that creates more ease in your daily life, not just on the mat.
