Client Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: July 2026
These Terms & Conditions constitute an agreement between Alison Reaume and Vidya Yoga Academy dba Alison Réaume (“we”, “our”, or “us”) and the client, student, participant, or purchaser (“you”, “your”, or “client”) participating in any program, course, teacher training, workshop, retreat, mentorship, consulting service, private session, event, or other offering provided by Vidya Yoga Academy or Alison Réaume.
By registering for, purchasing, or participating in any of our offerings, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Scope of AgreementThese Terms & Conditions apply to all current and future services offered by Vidya Yoga Academy and Alison Réaume, including but not limited to:
- Yoga Teacher Training Programs
- Continuing Education Programs
- Workshops
- Retreats
- Private Yoga Sessions
- Yoga Therapy
- Business Coaching & Mentorship
- Consulting Services
- Online Courses
- Digital Products
- Events
- Any other educational or professional services offered.
Program-specific details such as tuition, payment schedules, attendance requirements, certification requirements, locations, and prerequisites will be outlined on the applicable registration or sales page and form part of this agreement.
2. Registration & EnrollmentRegistration is confirmed only after all required registration forms, agreements, deposits, and/or initial payments have been received.
We reserve the right to accept or decline any application or registration at our sole discretion.
3. PaymentPayment schedules vary by offering and will be outlined during registration.
Where applicable:
- Deposits secure your place in the program or service.
- Deposits are applied toward your total tuition or service fee unless otherwise stated.
- Payment plans may be available for select programs.
- All payments must be received by the stated due dates.
Failure to make scheduled payments may result in suspension of services, cancellation of your registration, denial of access to course materials, or refusal of certification until outstanding balances have been paid.
4. Cancellation, Withdrawals & RefundsNon-refundable deposits are required for certain programs and services. Deposit amounts will be outlined during registration.
If your specific program includes a withdrawal deadline, it will be stated on the registration page.
Unless otherwise stated:
- Deposits are non-refundable.
- Once a program, service, mentorship, retreat, workshop, consultation, private session, coaching engagement, or training has commenced, all payments become non-refundable.
If you choose to discontinue participation after your program or service has begun, you remain responsible for any outstanding tuition or payment obligations.
In exceptional circumstances, tuition or fees paid beyond any non-refundable deposit may be transferred to a future offering at the sole discretion of Alison Reaume and Vidya Yoga Academy. Transfer requests are considered individually and are never guaranteed.
If Vidya Yoga Academy or Alison Réaume cancels a program or service, participants will receive either:
- a full refund of all amounts paid; or
- the option to transfer their registration to another offering.
5. Attendance & ParticipationCertain offerings require attendance, participation, assignments, assessments, or practicum components.
Program-specific attendance requirements will be outlined in the applicable program information.
Where certification is involved, failure to meet attendance or competency requirements may result in certification being withheld until requirements have been satisfied.
6. Code of ConductAll participants are expected to contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
The following behaviours may result in immediate removal from a program without refund:
- Harassment
- Discrimination
- Bullying
- Abusive or threatening behaviour
- Repeated disruption of instruction
- Behaviour that compromises the safety or wellbeing of others
7. Health & Personal ResponsibilityYou acknowledge that participation in yoga, movement, meditation, breathwork, coaching, retreats, workshops, and educational experiences involves varying degrees of physical, emotional, and mental engagement.
You agree to:
- participate within your own capabilities;
- inform instructors of any relevant injuries, medical conditions, or limitations;
- seek appropriate medical advice where necessary; and
- accept responsibility for your own wellbeing throughout participation.
Nothing provided by Vidya Yoga Academy or Alison Réaume constitutes medical, psychological, legal, financial, or other licensed professional advice.
8. Assumption of Risk & Release of LiabilityParticipation is voluntary.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless Vidya Yoga Academy, Alison Réaume, employees, contractors, guest teachers, assistants, venues, and volunteers from liability for injuries, illness, property damage, loss, or other claims arising from participation in any offering, except where caused by gross negligence or as otherwise required by law.
9. Intellectual PropertyAll manuals, workbooks, presentations, videos, recordings, online materials, templates, worksheets, digital downloads, and educational content remain the intellectual property of Vidya Yoga Academy and Alison Réaume.
Materials are provided solely for your personal educational use. You may not:
- copy,
- reproduce,
- record,
- distribute,
- publish,
- modify,
- teach from commercially,
- or share these materials without prior written permission.
Unauthorized reproduction or distribution may result in legal action.
10. Recordings & MediaPrograms, workshops, retreats, or trainings may be photographed or recorded for educational or promotional purposes.
By participating, you grant permission for your image or likeness to be used in future marketing materials.
If you do not wish to appear in promotional materials, you must notify us in writing before the beginning of the program.
11. Online ProgramsFor online offerings, you are responsible for maintaining an appropriate internet connection and device.
Technical difficulties on the participant’s end do not constitute grounds for refunds.
Access periods for digital programs are outlined on each individual sales page.
12. CertificationWhere applicable, certification is awarded only upon successful completion of all required components of the applicable program.
Completion requirements vary by offering and are outlined in the relevant program information.
13. PrivacyPersonal information collected during registration is used solely for program administration, communication, and legal record-keeping.
Your information will never be sold or shared except where required by law or necessary for delivering the purchased service.
14. Force MajeureAlison Reaume + Vidya Yoga Academy shall not be liable for delays, interruptions, postponements, or cancellations resulting from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- natural disasters;
- severe weather;
- pandemics;
- government restrictions;
- labour disruptions;
- venue closures;
- public emergencies; or
- other force majeure events.
Where reasonably possible, affected programs may be rescheduled, relocated, or delivered online.
15. Limitation of LiabilityTo the fullest extent permitted by law, any liability arising from participation in our services shall be limited to the amount paid by the participant for the specific program or service giving rise to the claim.
16. Governing LawThese Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
17. AgreementBy submitting a registration, purchasing a program or service, signing an agreement, or participating in any offering provided by Vidya Yoga Academy or Alison Réaume, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
You further acknowledge that any program-specific policies, payment schedules, attendance requirements, certification requirements, and cancellation deadlines published on the applicable registration or sales page form part of this agreement.
