Tired of trying to figure out the business side of teaching yoga on your own?

Alchemy is a six-month private mentorship for yoga teachers who want to build a career around their teaching. We'll work on the business behind your work, as well as your teaching itself: developing your ideas, refining your offerings, exploring your teaching voice and making decisions about where you want your career to go.

You trained to teach yoga. Who taught you how to make a living doing it?

alchemy

let's talk

You know how to teach a class. You understand your practice, you care about your students, and you have ideas about the kind of work you want to do.

But building a career around teaching yoga asks you to learn a whole lot of other things.

You're expected to understand business, figure out your pricing, learn new technology, create content, market your classes, organise workshops, manage bookings and somehow get people to show up.

You might spend hours trying to work out how to set up an email list, create a booking page or promote an event, when what you really want is to get on with teaching.

And if you don't have a background in business or marketing, you're often left piecing it together yourself. Searching for answers. Following advice that may or may not apply to you. Trying things, making mistakes and wondering whether you're spending your time on the right things.

Meanwhile, the actual teaching is competing with everything else on your to-do list.

It's a lot to figure out when nobody taught you how all these pieces fit together.

You wanted to teach yoga. When did you end up with five other jobs?

And it's starting to take the joy out of it.

You want to develop your teaching. You have ideas for workshops, retreats, private sessions or other ways you could work with students.

But every idea seems to come with a new set of tasks.

You need to shape the offer, decide what to charge, find a venue, create the promotional material, tell people about it, manage registrations and make sure the practical details are covered.

Even something you're genuinely excited about can start to feel like another project you're not sure how to manage.

Perhaps you've already tried running an event that barely covered its costs. Perhaps you're posting on social media without knowing whether it's helping. Perhaps you keep putting off an idea because you can't face working out everything involved.

Or perhaps you're simply tired of feeling as though you should know how to do all of this by now.

The result is that the work surrounding your teaching can start taking up the time, attention and energy you'd rather give to teaching itself.

You still want to build something. You just need a more workable way to approach it.

You don't have to figure out every piece on your own.

Alchemy is a space to work through the business of teaching yoga with someone who understands both the teaching itself and what it takes to build a career around it.

Bring the questions you're sitting with. An offer you're developing, pricing you're unsure about, a workshop you want to run, marketing you need help with, or a class that isn't attracting the students you'd hoped for.

We can also step back and look at the bigger picture: what you want from your teaching career, how you want it to develop, and what needs to change to make that possible.

Together, we'll look at where you are, explore your options and work out what makes sense for you, your circumstances and the kind of teacher you want to be.

That might mean improving something you're already doing, exploring a new direction, reconsidering an assumption or deciding that an idea isn't worth your time right now.

Our work will be grounded in your actual teaching and business, not a generic formula for building a yoga career. We'll focus on the questions that matter to you and the decisions that will help you move forward.

You'll have space to think things through, get an outside perspective and put your ideas into practice, with support as you go.

What could you work on in Alchemy?

Developing your own offers

Perhaps you're ready to move beyond your regular classes. You want to run workshops, create a series, offer private sessions or explore retreats.

We can work through the idea, consider the practicalities, think about pricing and plan how to get it in front of the people who might be interested.

Finding a way to market that works for you.

Maybe you hate marketing. I get it. But you also know what happens when you do it, and what happens when you don't. People need to know about your classes, workshops and offers if they're going to book them.

The challenge is finding a way to talk about your work that feels manageable, fits your personality and reaches the people you want to work with. That might mean getting clearer on your message, finding the right channels, or setting up simple systems that help you stay in touch with your audience without having to reinvent the wheel every week.

We'll look at what's working, what's taking more time than it should, and how to make marketing a more practical part of your working life.

Coming to grips with the business and tech

Booking systems, websites, email platforms, automations and the general administration of running a business can take up a surprising amount of time.

We can identify where you're getting stuck, think through your options and work out which tools or processes are actually useful for your needs.

Working out what's next

Maybe your career has changed, your priorities have shifted, or the way you've been working no longer feels right.

We can make space to consider what you want to keep, what you want to change and what a more sustainable working life could look like for you.

You don't need to tackle all of these areas. We'll focus on what matters most to you.

Whether you're starting out or have been teaching for years, we can work on the business behind your teaching and the teaching itself. From finding opportunities and attracting students to developing classes, refining your approach and creating new offerings, we'll focus on what you want to build and where you want to grow.

Developing your teaching and building your career

The answer depends on where you are in your career and what you're trying to figure out.

Six areas of Inquiry

Let's talk alchemy

Discernment

Decide what deserves your time and attention. With so much advice, technology and marketing noise, learn to recognize what's relevant to your business and what you can leave behind.

Embodiment

Bring your practice, philosophy and lived experience into your teaching. Develop your teaching voice and create experiences that reflect what matters to you.

Integrity

Bring your values into the practical realities of earning a living. Explore pricing, marketing, boundaries and business decisions that respect both your principles and your financial needs.

Evolution

Make room for your career to change. Explore new ideas, develop different offerings and consider what you want the next stage of your teaching life to look like.

Alchemy is shaped around six areas of inquiry. These aren't modules you have to complete in order. They're different ways of exploring your teaching, your decisions and the career you're building.

Integration

Turn ideas into action. Develop the offer, write the email, set up the booking process and put your thinking into practice in your actual business.

Unlearning

Question the assumptions you've picked up about what a yoga teacher should do, how a teaching career should look, and what success means to you. Make room for a way of working that fits your life and ambitions.

The mentors who shaped my career

The people who have had the biggest influence on my career as a yoga teacher haven't necessarily been the people who taught me in a teacher training. They've been the mentors I've worked with along the way.

People who shared their experience, challenged the way I was thinking, helped me see possibilities I hadn't considered and gave me support when I was trying to work out my next move. That guidance has shaped the teacher, business owner and mentor I am today.

I've also learned a lot by figuring things out, including through plenty of things that haven't worked. I'm lucky to have a professional background in sales and marketing, and through my other work I work closely with entrepreneurs and CEOs, helping them navigate the practical realities of running and growing a business.

I've brought that experience into building my own yoga business, developing classes and workshops, figuring out marketing and technology, and learning what it actually takes to make a living from teaching yoga. I've had things go well, made mistakes, tried things that went nowhere and learned from all of it. (There have been a few lessons.)

That combination of business experience and 17+ years in the yoga world informs how I support other teachers. I understand the realities of teaching, and I can also help you think through the business decisions and practical steps involved in building a career around it.

Since 2012, I've also worked with and trained yoga teachers internationally. Alongside my background as a Certified Yoga Therapist, E-RYT 500 and YACEP, this experience has given me a broad understanding of the different paths a teaching career can take.

Alchemy grew out of all of this: my own experience, the guidance I've received from others, and the work I've done supporting teachers and wellness entrepreneurs.

I believe having someone in your corner who can help you think things through, see another perspective and work out your next steps can make a significant difference to how your career develops.

That's what I want to offer through Alchemy. A space where you can bring the real questions and challenges you're facing in your teaching career and have someone alongside you as you work through them.

Hi, I'm Alison!

Hear it from past students...

It’s totally worth it. The course is well laid out and easy to understand and follow.  You will be challenged and supported and cheered on. If you are serious about making yoga teaching a viable business, this course will help you do that.

—SIOBHAN

"Get clear about your yoga teaching path & next steps'."

I feel like this is something that I can love and generate income from. Two things can exist at once. Whereas before this course I thought this has to be a passion project where money was never really going to be a motivator and I didn’t know if it was long term.

—ROBIN

"I' can have aligned work AND make money."

Do it!!! This is such a well rounded program with incredible tools and instruction on how to apply it all.

—MICHELLE

"I was able to get clear on who I actually want to work with."

Six months of working through it together

Alchemy is a six-month private mentorship shaped around your teaching, your business and the questions you're navigating.

Dedicated time to discuss what's happening in your career, work through decisions and identify what deserves your attention.

Each week, you can send one piece of marketing or promotional material, or a class-related resource, for feedback.

You don't always want to wait until your next monthly call to ask a question. Support is available Tuesday to Thursday.

Across the six months, you'll have regular opportunities to reflect, make decisions, work on your ideas and revisit your progress.

You'll also receive access to the live relaunch + lifetime access to my Business of Yoga course relaunching in Spring 2027.

Alchemy is for yoga teachers who want to build a career around their teaching and need support navigating the work that comes with it.

You might be newly qualified or have years of teaching experience. You might feel confident in the classroom but less sure about marketing, pricing, technology or business decisions. You might already have a range of offers and want to make them work better together.

You don't need a business background, a polished strategy or a perfectly articulated vision for the future.

You do need to be willing to look honestly at your current situation, ask questions, explore your options and put ideas into practice.

Alchemy is collaborative. I'll bring my experience in yoga teaching, business, marketing, technology and systems, along with questions, perspective and feedback. You'll bring your knowledge of your students, your ambitions, your circumstances and your willingness to engage with the work.

Together, we'll focus on the decisions and practical steps that make sense for you.

You probably became a yoga teacher because you wanted to teach yoga. You wanted to share something meaningful, work with people, deepen your practice or build a working life around something you care about.

You didn't necessarily expect to become responsible for every piece of running a business along the way.

You can learn those things, and you can get support as you do. You don't have to solve every business problem before you can start developing the work you want to create.

Alchemy gives you somewhere to bring the questions, work through the challenges and put your ideas into practice.

If you're ready for support with the business of being a yoga teacher, let's talk about Alchemy.

Your teaching career deserves some attention, too.

Frequently asked questions

Alchemy is for yoga teachers at any stage of their teaching career who want to develop their work, build a business around their teaching or get more support with the practical side of making a living from yoga.

You might be newly qualified and working out where to start, or you might have been teaching for years and be ready to explore a new direction. The focus is on where you are now and what you want to work towards.

No. You don't need to have a fully established business or even know exactly what you want to create. You might have an existing schedule of classes, be developing workshops or retreats, considering private sessions, or still figuring out what a teaching career could look like for you.

We'll work with your starting point.

That depends on your goals and what is happening in your teaching career. We might work on developing an offer, pricing, marketing, filling classes, planning workshops, improving your systems or exploring a new direction.

There is no fixed formula or set curriculum for our private sessions. We'll focus on the questions and decisions that are most relevant to you.

Alchemy includes:
  • One private 60-minute call each month for six months
  • Weekly feedback on one piece of marketing or promotional material, or a class-related resource.
  • WhatsApp support Tuesday to Thursday.
  • Access to my Business of Yoga course, including the live relaunch in Spring 2027 and lifetime access to the session recordings.

You'll have access to me via WhatsApp Tuesday to Thursday for questions, feedback and support as things come up. It's a way to keep momentum between our monthly calls, rather than having to wait until our next session. You can share links to thinks, leave voice notes, ask questions. Whatever it is you need.

That's absolutely fine. You don't need to arrive with a detailed business plan or a list of problems to solve. Part of our work can be figuring out what's important, where your attention is best spent and what you want your next steps to look like.

Due to the nature of Alchemy as a private six-month mentorship, all payments are non-refundable. When you enrol, time and space are reserved for you, and access to the mentorship, resources and support is arranged around your participation.

By applying and choosing to join, you're committing to the full six-month experience. Please make sure you're comfortable with the time, financial and personal commitment before enrolling.
