There is something special about practicing yoga outside the walls of a studio.
It’s not because the poses change. It’s not because the setting is different. It’s because when we gather in unexpected places, we create opportunities to connect, not just with ourselves, but with one another.
That’s exactly what this special community yoga event at Coquitlam Centre is all about.
In partnership with lululemon, I’m excited to host a morning that brings people together through movement, mindfulness, and community. We’ll begin with an accessible, all-levels yoga practice before enjoying a private shopping experience at lululemon.
While shopping is certainly a fun part of the morning, it’s really the excuse for something bigger: creating space to pause, move, and connect with people who value wellness just as much as you do.
One of the reasons I continue teaching after all these years is because yoga has never been just about flexibility, strength, or mastering poses. To me, yoga is about learning how to be present.
It’s about taking an hour out of your day to notice your breath, pay attention to your body, and step away from the constant demands of everyday life.
Whether you practice once a week or every day, every class offers an opportunity to reconnect with yourself.
When we practice together, something else happens too. We begin to feel connected to our community.
Life can feel busy.
We move from work to home, from errands to responsibilities, often without slowing down long enough to simply be with other people.
Community events like this create opportunities to do exactly that.
You’ll meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces, and spend your morning surrounded by others who simply wanted to carve out a little time for themselves.
There are no expectations and no experience is required.
Everyone is invited exactly as they are.
We’ll move through a gentle, all-levels yoga practice designed to help you stretch, breathe, and feel grounded before heading into an exclusive private shopping experience at lululemon.
Whether this is your very first yoga class or you’ve been practicing for years, you’ll be guided every step of the way.
All you need is:
Everything else is taken care of.
Some of my favourite moments as a teacher don’t happen during the class itself.
They happen before practice begins, when people introduce themselves.
They happen after class, when conversations continue long after we’ve rolled up our mats.
They happen when someone leaves saying, “I didn’t know I needed that.”
My hope is that this morning offers exactly that, a chance to move your body, meet new people, and begin your day feeling a little more connected than when you arrived.
If that sounds like the kind of morning you’ve been craving, I’d love to practice with you.
